Windows 7 Installation Errors

I have a fairly new HP laptop. I am trying to install Windows 7 Pro on it using a USB DVD drive. I keep getting an error message that no device drivers were found. I have tried two different drives, all 3 USB ports and 3 different DVDs. Would this have anything to do with UEFI settings? What is the solution to this problem?

Thank you.

A lot of people report it failing when using USB 3 ports, but switching over to a USB 2 port worked, may be worth checking.

I have tried every USB port on this laptop.
Are they 2 or 3? If 3, you may need to download the driver from the manufacturer, install them on the usb and run it and follow the instruction to then be able to use the windows installer.

With regards to the UEFi, you may like to review https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/askcore/2011/05/31/installing-windows-7-on-uefi-based-computer/
How new a machine?   Did it come with Windows 7?  If not, then you probably cannot install Windows 7. Microsoft told vendors to stop allowing Windows 7 to be installed 2 or 3 years ago.
go into bios, turn off uefi and legacy mode.  try installing then .  that sets it to the old style of bios.  then you can either leave it that way or play around with legacy mode to reinstall.
what model laptop is it?
Hi There Robert,
The Things for Windows 7 if using a UEFI Laptop is as follows:

  1. In the Bios turn Secure Boot off
  2. Set the boot order to legacy
  3. In SATA Mode change to AHCI rather than ATA or RAID

The Above should help you detect the drives and install Windows 7 Successfully.

Kenza
It is an HP TPN-C125

1.In the Bios turn Secure Boot off - Done
2.Set the boot order to legacy - Done
3.In SATA Mode change to AHCI rather than ATA or RAID -Done

All done before posting the question.
If the computer is new (less than 2 years) you cannot install Windows 7 any more.
If you go here and change the operating system to windows 7. https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-Notebook-PC-series/8499326/model/8819368

You will need another usb or disc. You will most likely need to download, Driver Chipset, Driver Controller and Driver Storage.

When you are prompted for driver during windows setup point to the device where you downloaded to.
joinaunion, that didn't work. The computer doesn't even see the second USB device with the drivers.
Can you please tell us the age of the computer?

You said "new".  So now it came with Windows 10 - correct?   And now there is no way to go backwards.

Microsoft is highly intent on stamping out Windows 7 and everything prior.
When prompted for driver you need to remove the windows usb then put driver usb in. Once the drivers are installed it will prompt for the windows usb again.

The only solution that worked was working with HP as suggested by nobus. But thank you all for your input.
