Get Uber on my iPad

Can the Uber app be made to work on my iPad?

Many of the other apps I have recently installed on my iPad or my iPhone has replicated itself on the other. I’m guessing that since Uber has been on my phone for over 3 years, that replication did not occur then.

Can I make it happen?

Thanks

Get it from here:

Quote  "Requires iOS 10.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch"

Good luck

Hi there! :)

I don't think the actual app data and software operating is duplicated. I believe what you may be referring to is a case of having duplicate shortcuts. You may refer to the link below for an official guide from the apple support team on how to do this.

ASKER

John,

It downloads, but doesn’t work. It’s stuck where I push the arrow, nothing.
Have you got IOS 10 or greater on the iPad?

If you do, then you would need to contact Uber Support.

It works on iPhones IOS 10 or higher and Android
That might be it, but how can I tell?

I see NOTHING under settings.

Just NUTS that something like is not obvious.
On your iPad, Settings, General, About and that should show you the IOS version.
Says version 11.4.
John,

Oh by the way, how do you contact Uber support?

You are very welcome and I am glad you got it working.
John, there is a problem with the "How to schedule Rides". It says ".....driver will arrive in the 10 minute window you've selected. In the case where a driver is not available, you will be notified".

So our plane leaves at 6:50 AM on a Friday, San Diego. The airport is about 25 miles from the house. The airport is close to downtown. Traffic inbound on the freeway is brutal from about 6 AM till later. My gut if I was driving, leave the house at 5:00 AM. "if driver not available & I am notified" THEN, have to go to plan B, which probably means taxi, at that time of day no telling how long, miss the flight. I'm not comfortable with that AT ALL.

In my view that rules Uber out.
Yes, Uber is not the best for everything.

I had to leave Seattle very early one morning (MVP Summit).  Uber not reliable. So I just took a regular cab.
Thanks John.

Is there any way to communicate with them to ask them about this EXACT issue? Seems not.

Thanks
We need to contact the driver who says they are going to pick us up
Yeah, that helps a lot at 5 AM.

Thanks

Do you know if Lyft is any better?

It just seems so obvious to me that if you have a plane to catch, you CANNOT be late.

Richard
I think Lyft is trying to do better than Uber and Uber is having to catch up.  Still, all you can do is try them.

The services are nothing more than a software company matching drivers and riders.  Uber is not (in detail) responsible for its drivers.
