Corrupted profile on windows 2008
Hi, I am using Windows Server 2008 R2.
When I access through Remote Desktop, it seems a "defaul profile" is loaded (no icons, and so on).
If I open DOS Prompt, my path shows c:\users\temp.
I read some infos on Google but I would like to proceed safely to solve this.
My regedit shows this:
Thank you!

Hi, I would like to retrieve my original profile (c:\users\administrator is STILL present, with all files/directories in).
Is it possible?
Thank you!

Hi, it seems I don't have ProfileGUID key (just ProfileList)
Hi
Login with a different user
Just delete the key below yours with the .bak at the end. that should solve the problem.
regards
Thomas

Look one line below the highligted one, while the user is still on, rename the highlited with a .crap suffix. Rename the one below removing .bak suffix, have the user logout. This shoud resolve the issue.
The profile is not necessarily corrupt.
The .bak suffix is an indication that during the prior logout, shutdown. The system did not cleanly unload the user and thus saved the profile.
On subsequent login, the user profile is seen as in use and a temp profile is setup for the loged in session.
Folder redirection? Use of Dropbox, Onedrive, google drive, etc that could slowdown logout?

Hi, I renamed to "original" S-1-5-21-281137328-5110784 74-2378384 692-500 in .crap and S-1-5-21-281137328-5110784 74-2378384 692-500.ba k in S-1-5-21-281137328-5110784 74-2378384 692-500
Same result: I still in "c:\users\temp".
I also tried to remove the "wrong" S-1-5-21-281137328-5110784 74-2378384 692-500.cr ap.. but the effect is same.
Thank you

You could also log in with a different account that has administrator rights, rename the profile you're having issues with and log back in with your profile. It will rebuild.
