HP: "Your printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem. 0x80004005."

At work we have this HP LaserJet 400 M401n that cannot print png files. we try and it says "your printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem. 0x80004005." We can print a test page and a Word document. I think it can print anything else except for images.
This printer is using a certain "universal" print driver. It's our policy to use this driver because we usually have problems if we use other drivers, so I'm inclined to believe that its not a driver issue, even though at first glance it may sound like a driver problem (maybe it still is a driver problem, i dunno).

Images take more resources and memory than Word documents in most cases.

1. Can you upgrade the memory in the printer?
2. I suggest using the HP Printer Driver, or possibly the Windows Printer Driver for that printer.

Uninstall the Printer (remove) and also remove (delete) the universal driver. Restart and install the HP Driver.

Thanks for the points, john8217, but what did I say that solved your problem?
I normally fix the printer (memory, drivers) to fix problems like this
Drivers yes, but I have never seen printer memory fix an image printing issue.
