I am setting up a role in our Test and Dev vCenter to allow certain user to modify their VMs.

Which permission / role will allow them to connect to network adapters assigned to their VMs?

 thanks

The Role :- Virtual Machine :- Interaction:- Device Connection allows Connect/Disconnect Network devices.

But you also need to add the role :- Network:- Assign Network.

and this permissions needs to be granted to Datacenter Networking as well as permission for the VM or Folder.

I don't see  "Device Connection allows Connect/Disconnect Network devices.

I see  - Virtual Machine :- Interaction:"Connect Devices " followed by
"Create screenshot",
"Defragment all disks",
"Drag and Drop",

It’s just called Device Connection

The other is just text to describe what it does

I would think Connect Devices is the same are you using Web or vSphere Client

Yes,,i think "Connect Devices" is the same,,,

Once I added the user permission to  Datacenter, it looks like it is working.

I have to follow up with a new question in my next "Ask a question"
