Can I load ESXi 6.7 nested on a vSphere 6.0 ESXi VM

I am looking at nested virtualization in our vSphere 6.0 lab.  I want to look at ESXi 6.7.

When I create a new VM and select other, I only see VMware ESXi 6.5.

Is there any issues with selecting this option and then loading ESXi 6.7?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The Same principles apply so you should be able to select vSphere 6.5 and install 6.7 on it :)

Obviously after creation make sure you upgrade the virtual hardware.

6.5 selection is okay, continue.... and then install ESXi 6.7... but check CPU support.

other than your CPU must support ESXi 6.7!

Many CPU's were removed from ESXi 6.7, and the installer will not continue, even if Nested, because the CPU is NOT emulated in a vSphere environment.

What is your CPU in the host ?
