asked on

encrypting drive on Mac OS

Is drive encryption possible on a mac?  If so, what do I need to do to set it  up.  If its not available, do I need a third party software in order to accomplish it and do you have any recommendations?

Is it built in to most iOS systems?
It is a Mac OS feature, not an iOS one. iOS devices have their own encryption featured. Remember the whole thing with locking the devices with a PIN?

yes it is called filevault 2 (version 1 is really terrible, and 2 is available from Lion and later) and it is part of the OS, you can enable it just after installing or I believe even after its already installed
