Got a client that is using Quickbooks 2018. They are trying to update their file using an accountants copy. They must use the web version because they don't have the same year of quickbooks. Also, the client's quickbook is the one a year behind the accountant. From our research, these items of concern are fine and will not impact the process. The company file opens fine, they just can't update it with the accountant's copy. Below is the link to their error. https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Reports-and-accounting/Unrecoverable-Error-when-importing-Accountant-s-Changes/m-p/202619

The error code is: 26021 03020

Has anybody encountered this error before?

That will not work.  Intuit must upgrade the file to the Web Version and then everyone uses the Web Version.

You cannot mix the Desktop and Web version at all.

So we tested out having them open their company file via the desktop. Then proceed File > Send Company File > Accountant's Copy > Import Accountant's Changes from Web. The "Please wait while the changes are being loaded box" appears fine. Then click "Incorporate Accountant's Changes" button. After about 2-3 minutes the Quickbooks Unrecoverable Error box appears, listing Code: 26021 03020. We fill in their questionnaire and click send and then the "Aborting Application: QuickBooks is now terminating" appears and closes QuickBooks down.

That is because you cannot mix Web (QuickBooks Online) and Desktop (QB Desktop) versions.

Your customer needs to settle on which version of file (Online it has to be now so far as I know) and use Online everywhere

Oh ok, I see. We'll give that a shot and see how it goes. Thanks!

We tried the desktop only version and for whatever reason it still wasn't working. After speaking with Quickbooks support again they recommended we just upgrade the user. So after upgrading them to the current version, the file then worked.

Upgraded to current quickbooks solved our issue.

So then you have everyone on the same File (Database) version and same Desktop Version and that works.  Good

I did tell you above versions / files must be the same.  Any reason why you did not accept my answer?
