Clipboard not working on RDP session
Hi,
I have an old Windows Server 2003 (don't ask) and I cannot sync the clipboard for some reason.
I cannot copy and paste, although clipboard is ticked as an option in the settings for RDP before I connect.
Is there any other setting I could be missing to get the clipboard working again from my pc to the server and back again?

The server is probably configured to prevent clipboard. http://tritoneco.com/2013/10/04/disable-remote-desktop-copy-paste/ has instructions for 2008+, but the setting is likely still in the same place for 2003, just change the names from remote desktop services to terminal services or something similar.

Hi Adam,
I tried that, it was labelled slightly differently in Windows server 2003, but I did find the "Do not allow clipboard redirection' properties, and I disabled it and ran gpupdate but still no joy when I logged back in.
I cannot copy and paste into our out of the server, and I cannot drag and drop either....

Hi. I'm just trying to copy and paste a file. even a small text file. I will try installing GPMC, although I imagine it will be hard to find an installer for 2003 32 bit server 😱

HI, I installed GPMC, and trawled through every active policy disabling the setting preventing re-direction of both clipboard and drives.
No change!!

Dear all, thank you for your input, this was a very frustrating problem!!
Glad to say that the issue is resolved, in the end despite modifying all the Group policy settings and not seeing any change, I think it was the clearing of the credentials from the RDP window and entering them again fresh which forced through the change.
Thank you again

Commonly, You can not copy a file through a clipboard, you can only copy text through it.
