asked on
sccm for imaging and updating and installing application for both windows and macosx clients
I have some windows (win7,win 10) machines as I use sccm for imaging and update and patching and installing applications in my production environment
we are going to expand and we will have 50 users with macosx
So kindly my question :
could I use sccm for imaging and updating and installing application and managing mac osx so to be used for both windows and mac osx clients for everything?

There are two options in SCCM to manage macosx there are lite management and full management with lite management you can discover ,inventory, settings ,application and update management only . Operating system deployment feature of macosx is avalable in SCCM full management with parallels plug in ( https://www.parallels.com/eu/products/mac-management/).Also Lite management option has some overhead in managing PKI and certificates see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/clients/deploy/prepare-to-deploy-mac-clients
SCCM can do it but its little bit complex. Refer below link for more information

I would like to know if I can use sccm only as it is preferred and if so what version of sccm ?
or I have integrate it through parallels plugin and if it is a must what about Parallels licensing and experience pricing ?
Waiting for your kind advice

You cannot do it with scum alone. Not sure on the parallels cost- if any

I get confused a little bit as I see this link from replies to my Question
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/clients/deploy/deploy-clients-to-macs
What this means as they did not talk at all for any plugin?
Please explain for me?..

OSX has support for a system called NETBOOT which allows the Macs to install an image or rebuild a mac from a network image file. The Parallels system allows the macs to use netboot and work in conjunction with SCCM.
Alternatively you can use Deploy Studio (http://www.deploystudio.com) to manage and deploy OSX images using NetBoot and Munki for the software patch management (https://www.munki.org/munki/)
