Best practice for IP range for network printers?

I’m deploying a few network printer in small environment. I have a firewall and a couple switches and a Windows DHCP/DNS server. Is it best to create a new IP range for printers and would that translate to creating a new subnet? Also I heard it’s better for DHCP reservation than to do static IP for printers. Any advice/teaching suggestions here appreciated.
