Outlook 2016 not accepting Gmail account passwords
Hello, I have a Google suite customer that I am trying to connect their account using imap into outlook 2016 but outlook keeps giving me an error of wrong username and password. I turn on imap in the setting in the Google suite account and I log into the account using the browser to confirm the password is correct no luck. Then I tried my personal Gmail account that I use within my outlook at my desk and same problem. Any suggestions

Is this a new thing? I been setting up Gmail and google suite users for years and always allow the user to use their personal created password in outlook. I know I have had to turn on use unsecure apps in the google suite admin panel, but never used the google gerated password to get this to work. The only reason I am digging deeper is the company doesn't give me access to the google suite admin panel and the owner witch uses Pop3 settings knows enough to be dangerous so I hope I don't have to go to him to get him to first understand any of this but to give me a google generated password. Also, I recall I used to have to use a connector to link some google, Hotmail accounts to outlook but haven't had to do that in a while.
