Server 2012/2016 Hyper-V VM License question

I want to setup a Hyper-V virtual server on a Server 2012 or 2016.  My understanding is that they both allow for 2 VM licenses.  Do these licenses include the server license to install on the VM.  Do you use the same product key as the server.  Having a difficult time finding the information on the Hyper-V licensing.  Seems like there are many different opinions on what is included and how it all works.
Any help would be appreciated.

Windows Server Standard allows for 2 Virtual Machines per license.
For Activation (which is separate from licencing) you can use the product key you or the AVMA Key (Automatic Virtual Machine Activation)

AVMA works only on windows server data center editions hyper-v hosts

If yours is standard edition, you should be allowed to activate virtual instances with same license key as host

U may find issues in doing that

OR probably you can use AVMA key to activate virtual instances as long as they are running with 2012 R2 and above

MS has publically published AVMA keys for each OS which you can use for guest activations

Thanks David and Mahesh.
This was what I needed to get going.  I have another question.  I have a new server that has server 2016 OEM version  preinstalled and did not get the media distribution for server 2016.  Can I download the evaluation copy of server 2016 standard and then install either my product key from the server or the AVMA key.
Thanks again for all your help.

Check server chassis, it should give you OEM key
Use that key

Probably in case of OEM license, contact hardware vendor because evaluation copy may be converted to retail version and then probably u can activate it

Thank you both.
I now have a good starting point to getting Hyper-V up and running on these servers.
