.Net Framework 3.5 Installation Problem

While attempting to install an older application onto a recently upgraded Windows 10 Pro computer, it requires the .Net Framework 3.5 to be installed.  When attempting to install it, I receive an error message 0x8024401f.  Is there a solution for this?

Windows 10 has a newer version of .net installed.
In theory you do not need to install .net Framework 3.5 for the app to run.
Open Programs and Features, Windows Features and ensure both .NET 4.8 and .NET 3.5 are both checked (enabled). If you change the settings here, close out and restart to allow the installation.

Thank you for the responses.  The problem appears to have been from WSUS updates.  The computer updated without any issues after disconnecting from the domain.  Thank you.
