vs 2017 Freezing with (Not Responding)

I have a C# Webform application which freezes every time I open the application in VS2017. As soon as I edit any source such as web.config then it freezes within approx 1 minute and I get a Not Responding message. Each time I have to go to task manager to end the task.  It may be connected to Git as I played around with using Git for a while. I have now switched of git via tools/options/source control/ plug in section set back to None.    However I cannot be sure.  How can I determine what is causing Visual Studio to stop responding ?

regards

It is possible that it is the feedback system causing crashes. This is a known issue with some versions of VS 2017. You can turn it off to solve the problem.

1. Open Visual Studio
2. Select Help > Send Feedback > Settings
3. Select "No, I would not like to participate" button and click "OK"

Alternatively, some users of VS 2017 found that there were issues with the .TRN files in the "%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\VSApplicationInsights\" folder. Deleting these helped some users.

You can also try running Visual Studio in safe mode to see if it is any 3rd party connections or plugins causing the problems.
