Hi M,

Would you be able to share any more information about your issue? What is the file that you are looking at? What was the reason that you discovered for the file size being large?

You can examine wht is taking up the space since a .docx file is a series of compressed .xml files you can examine it using 7zip, Winzip, Winrar and see what is taking up the most space.. Images are the prime culprit

Hi M,

I've found Autorecover (see image below) can be a culprit for this behaviour when a file is frequently edited as well.

Solutions include disabling auto-recovery or switching off temporarily, saving and closing the file, then re-open the doc and re-enable.

Just something to take a look at.

Andrew,  thank you. I believe that is the reason why, the file sized suddenly increased,  and if so, I will have to repair office.

On a positive note, I was able to work around the problem: I decreased the file size.

All thank you for your time on this.

David, thank you for your contribution, but in this case, when I reduced the file size, I did not remove any images.
