HP probook 450 g1 q,w,e,r,u,i,o,p keys not working

I have have and HP probook 450 G1 that I replaced a power cable on.  After reassembly I have some keys on the keyboard that don't work.  The keys are q,w,e,r,u,i,o,p.   All other keys appear to work.   I purchased a new keyboard with the same issue.   I reset the cmos to factory settings, disassembled it to make sure nothing was touching the back of the motherboard but still have the same issue.

Any suggestions.

Tried an external keyboard to see if it's not the internal connection from MB-KB ribbon?

yes external keyboard works.
Take a close look at the connection pins on the board and IO connector or check the capacitors next to the connector...Do you have a multimeter to check continuity between IO and the Ribbon connector? If everything looks fine, uninstall your drivers downgrade or upgrade them. Before you do that make sure to take the battery out of the laptop after powering down, hold the power button down for 30 seconds to drain power, put the battery back in and power on and reset your bios again.
brand new keyboard.

Possibly ribbon cable not inserted correctly  on either keyboard or motherboard or ribbon cable damaged.

Ribbon cables are a pain to insert on laptops
Might even need the ZIF connector reflowed or even replaced.
