Outlook MAC 2011 total failure-How to recover application OR at least access the Contacts data?

I recently suffered a catastrophic failure of my Outlook 2011 MAC application on my MacBook Pro 2012, OS 10.10.5 (Yosemite). There  appears to be a major contribution to the failure in that the app was "frozen" for such a long time that I had to preform a "hard" shutdown computer system .  The app cannot be started, with only the title block appearing, sequencing through up to the "Setting up identity" step, before the app shuts down. I have retried to start the program several times, even after restarting MacOS, but always with the same resulting failure. I still have my original Office:mac 2011 (Home & business) CD. What process can I possibly use to recover my Outlook app, while preserving the inherent app data? Appreciatively, Arbyem
