Hi there! :)

Are you using a 64-bit version of an Internet browser? There is no support for the Edit in Datasheet feature.

Make sure the Data Connectivty Components are installed. Also make sure that Excel windows are closed. If issues persist, then try shifting to 32 bit Office.

Let me guess, you have Sharepoint 2010?

Turns out the big cause of your issue is Microsoft's own update to an Active X component.

If I understand correctly you are trying to access site from the Windows server 2008 R2, the default OS installation will have two browsers. Open internet explorer that doesn't have (64 bit) in the bracket. The one with 64bit is not supported
