Calendar items missing after a specific date
We are having an issue where multiple users are missing calendar items prior to 2016. All meetings prior to the time where it cuts off are not visible within an Outlook client or OWA. None of the users in question have auto archiving turned on. We do have an archiving solution in house, but we do not archive calendar items and all of the users in question have different dates to when it stops showing meetings in 2016. Looking at other calendars, specifically shared calendars, these all go back to the initial setup of Exchange 2010 or when the shared calendar was created. Exchange is on premise and everything is installed on the same servers/VM's since deployment.
Is it possible that the use of an iOS or Android device may have caused the meetings to disappear if there was a sync issue? Around the time the meetings disappeared, we had a huge push for users to stop using the native email programs on their devices and move to the Outlook app.

It does not show up in OWA. Using the "List" view on the client, I can match everything up with what shows up in OWA.
Hmmm, based on that ... my initial answer to your question at the end is "Yes", especially if there was a sync issue but without a way to "look backwards" it will be hard to say.
Outside chance; do any of these users *never* empty their recycle bin thus preserving older data. If yes, could this be used simply to prove it was there at one time? I know this sounds really weird but we had a customer who used his recycle bin as a file cabinet for older emails (complete with user-created and specifically named folders) ... since he was the primary owner of the business, no one could tell him it was a bad idea; even after one of the techs so nicely emptied his recycle bin for him! Yes, we had to restore his recycle bin "file cabinet" and he kept on using it that way ...

Unfortunately our retention policy is set to delete the deleted items bin after 14 days and I've viewed all of the mailboxes in question and couldn't find any of the older calendar items in there.
Another outside change; a lingering local PST or "archive.pst" which isn't being used and hasn't been deleted either locally or on an old backup of a possible redirected "My Documents" folder.

I could not find any archive PST files, but some of the OST files were 20% larger than what the Exchange server size shows, so I plan on exporting those from OST to PST files this evening to see if there is any other data in there.
Ok. If you have any issues, John (another Expert) recommends Stellar's products (for your case it would be https://www.stellarinfo.com/convert-ost-to-pst.php). I've not used them but if another Expert says they are good, I will take his word on it.

First thing I do when I have something like this wrong (with Exchange) is login to OWA to see if the data shows there. If it does, then it isn't the data, it is something with the client.
