When a Word document is opened, it freezes/hangs Microsoft Word.

Office 365 for Business
Windows 10
Problem: When a Word document is opened, it freezes/hangs Microsoft Word.
Note, the Word file opens correctly in Word Online
A previous version of the file opened temporarily

Things tried and did not work: Open Word in safe mode: winword.exe /a
Opened the Word file with the open and repair method
Insert the Word file with into a blank document (Word file)
Tried to export the Word file to a PDF
The file was renamed from the extension .docx to .doc
Tried to open the file in another profile

Other things to note, Windows 10 is fully updated
At one point, the file told me that someone else is using the document, but there was no proof

Proposal: Just restore the file from the previous day
Rename the Microsoft Word template
Perform an online repair of Microsoft Office 365 Pro
Try OpenOffice
Try the Word app, from the Windows Store
Try Google Docs
Try all the suggestions from Word

Try a different PDF creation tool, beside Adobe Acrobat

Any ideas?

GrahamSkan: This is a great suggestion, but remember a tried to save to PDF and it did not work. It will give your suggestion a try. Moreover, the problem only happens with one file.
if it happens only with one file, it means that this is file is corrupted.

You said it was opening correctly in Word online. Open it there, save as a new name and delete the former one.

GrahamSkan, your suggestion worked, but I had to tweak it first.
