HighPoint RocketRAID not working on a desktop computer

Hi I have a HighPoint RocketRAID 3740A that I put in a desktop computer, it is a PoweSpec computer with a Z390 Pro4 P44.00E motherboard/bios.  when it boots I don't get the choice to go into the HighPoint bios.   I tried to hit H+ctrl but it just goes into the Z390 bios.

I have been buying this same computer same bios and installing Dell Perc H740s and they work fine.  Someone on EE mentioned the HighPoint is a great choice too and figured I would try it out.

Question, is there something I have to enable or disable in the Z390 bios to get it to work?

That's correct.  Somewhere in the BIOS setup there should be an option to choose either BIOS startup or UEFI startup.

If Windows is already installed on the machine there may be problems with switching to BIOS permanently.  In that case it might be necessary to do RAID setup using the Highpoint BIOS, then switch back to UEFI to run Windows.

oK thanks, ill try that, ill be there later.  its a pc where I took the m.2 out, then put this raid in with 3 drives.  so there isn't one there that is connected to the mb bios, or onboard stuff.  I was going to load vmware esxi server on it.  Like I have done a ton with perc controllers.

Thanks Dr.  Ill let you know in a few :)

Did that resolve the issue?  Troubleshooting somebody else's problem remotely is always a bit of a crapshoot.  But it is our privilege to stand up and swing at 'em.
