how can I format an Acer Google Chromebook and replace Chrome OS with Windows 10?

Hello and Good Evening Everyone,

I have an Acer Google Chromebook which is running Chrome OS as its operating system.  However, I have several programs and games which require a Windows-based operating system to run that I would like on it.  That said, I am wondering if it is possible to completely wipe or format the Chromebook and start over by installing Windows 10 and loading all of the necessary Windows 10 hardware device drivers on it.

If more specific information about the Chromebook is needed such as its model number, please let me know and I will furnish it right away.

         Thank you.

Yes. Please post back the information.

Frankly speaking, if you want to use apps from Windows 10, it is better for you to buy another notebook instead of "converting" the OS to Windows 10 as most Chromebooks will have 32gb internal storage which is not enough to run Windows 10.

I do not recommend you to convert the OS to Windows 10 as your Chromebook only have 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. It will only meet the minimum requirements for Windows 10 but in practice, it will not work.

Unless your Chromebook has no value at all, it is no good to do the conversion.

You can install Windows on some chromebooks.  However, they're typically severely underpowered for Windows.  That's why they're so cheap and run crippled linux (aka android).

That is too lightweight a machine to run Windows 10.  You need a Windows 10 computer.

You have another open question about running Windows applications on this machine and answers provided there that are not likely to work because the machine is too lightweight.

Use it for its intended use and get a proper machine to run Windows and Windows games.

Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to address my question.  After reviewing everyone's feedback, it becomes apparent to me that any Windows-based application or game simply will not work well on this Acer Chromebook due to its limited hardware specifications.

On a side note, I have opened up a new post which is an extension of this question.  If anyone would like to review it and share your thoughts, it will be greatly welcomed and appreciated.  Here is a link to it https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/29154255/where-can-I-go-online-to-download-free-applications-and-games-for-an-Acer-Chromebook-C720-Series-Model-ZHN-running-Chrome-OS.html#questionAdd

Thanks once again everyone for your help.

George
