How to install the vmware tools on the new windows 2019 VM

Hi

I have installed a new Virtual infrastructure  and have installed vSphere 6.7.0 3
I have installed a new windows 2019 VM and and able to power on the this VM from Vsphere console but not able to access the server  and make any changes .
I noticed that VMware tools are not running on this VM , and on the console If i click install vmware it is asking to mount and even if i mount , i cant go into to the VM  and install the vmware tools  and the VM is not interactive through the web console .

Please let me know if these is a way of installing the vmware tools .

Thanks and any help will be great.

Main VMware Window, VM, Install Tools. That should launch the installer inside the guest machine.

? 2019 is usually pretty good - out of the gate ? Does it have a network connection and an IP?

The VM is running and on the vsphere if i click the VM and on the right side its says install VMware tools and if i click it  gives the option only to mount.

And i launched the web console and it was not very interactive, but somehow managed to login locally. But if i move the cursor inside the VM  , the cursor disappears and not able to configure IP or go to the CD drive and run the setup64.exe
Actually i had this Windows 2019 VM on the old Vsphere console  and i replicated to the new infrastructure using VEEAM and now i would like to dedicate this server for a new role.
Not sure, because this was replicated it is not allowing to install the VMware tools .
That should not prevent installation of the Tools unless the replication went wrong. Did you try running Setup when you mounted the installer?

Were they already installed and now you just need to reinstall?
Hi Pete
Thanks this worked :)

With the CD mounted browse to it with Explorer and run  setup64.exe?

>>VM is not interactive through the web console .

How about if you install the VMware remote console software on the machine you are managing it from?
It comes out the same way. The menu from the console launches a process inside the guest and you run setup. It works that way for all Windows guests
