Remote Desktop keeps freezing when users log in from home to their work computers using VPN

Remote Desktop keeps freezing when users log in from home to their work computers using VPN,  and they need either close the connection or re-stablish new Remote services.

Users used Windows 10, also using Cisco anyconnect Client on their PCs to connect to the Domain.
Company Pcs are on Windows 10 Profesional.

It sounds like RDP cannot connect.  Does your VPN tunnel allow the complete subnet at the Office end so that RDP can find the Server address?

Can they connect from the office or are there any other remote options to try (just for testing purposes)?

I would like to add, that this is something is happening lately as we have users who work from home using the VPN, and we never have any issues like this before.
We Remote Everyday to our server internally and we never have this kind of freezing issues, it only happens to some users who log in from outside using their own Pcs.
Thank you very much for your help.

It may be a connection issue as I described - Office or their home system. It may be their home antivirus / firewall setup.
Hi,

It sounds to me like the IT gods might be trying to tell you something!

Can you please clarify, there are two threads to your setup:

1) staff are at home using their own *home* computers to VPN to their work PC
2) staff are at home using their own *home* computers to VPN direct to Business Servers

Is that correct?
The other question I have is simply: when did this first fail? (I take it people from (1) were using VPN happily for a while).
Other questions:

is it random people who have problems?
how many people are sharing the same VPN tunnel (i.e. has there suddenly been more join)?
and most importantly: what is the difference between any "home PC" and a work machine?
with: Has anything been deployed/configured on work machines recently?

The reason for my Gods comment is that I don't have a problem "working from home" but the idea of letting someone use their home machine, that may (or may not) have any variety of nasty-ware installed, makes me feel uncomfortable. If you have what I call a "code of connection" saying nothing can connect unless you have: fully patched OS + AV + firewalls ON + AppLocker + Policies" then it's all good. If not, then you're at risk and the VPN is saving you!

I do realise you might not have the staff/funds to do that or to buy laptops purely for working from home but I feel remiss not to mention the risk.

Hello Mike. sorry for the late reply.

let us clarify what you are asking me.

Office Staff can use the VPN Tunnel to connect to their own domain Pc's which hey have to authenticate by a 2FA application on their phones.
they only permitted to connect to their own workstations and not the servers.

This issue is been happening recently as we never had this problem before and it's happening to some users only.
nothing has been deployed, only OS updates on the main DCs from 2008 to 2019 version.
We have all the fully patched security implemented AV, firewalls, 2FA, Policies so all good here. :)
any other questions please let us know.

And for the last point, we don't provide laptops to users but as I mentioned before if they need to connect to our domain,  they have to use two-factor authentication to access the VPN tunnel as well to access their own PCs.

if you have any ideas of what could be the cause please let me know.

Home users may have changed something, changed or updated antivirus, added software (their own VPN like Nord VPN and so on. You need to inquire about the home users computers.
