Try the mouse on another computer, and another mouse on the computer.
Is this after your BIOS update in your other questions?
If so Windows should automatically update the Windows HID drivers in the background and this should fix itself (and your keyboard bug) without any other action. Or you can manually install all the latest drivers. Your BIOS update changes all the interfaces between the hardware and drivers.

Thank you all for your contribution. I have not tried Robert's suggestion: restart the a laptop, since an external mouse was never mentioned, since I suspect it was a hardware issue.
Roller move ok? Middle button?
Mouse is USB?
Did the mouse fall and take a bump? No water spell?
