Apache web server not allowing login pages

Very strange problem
I have been using xampp in windows 10 for many months - no problems at all
In the last couple of days I have the problem where I try to log into phpmyadmin or any other site on my local webserver which requires a login, chrome browser just hangs
All the sites work in Firefox - no issues

I cannot see where the problem is in Chrome - I know I can recreate the Google chrome Data file and create a new one but I would rather not have to do that as I lose my settings
If I access the site from another pc with Chrome, the sites work just fine

Any ideas

Try Right Click -> Inspect -> Console -> Reload page.

See if this gives any clues.

Try launching a new incognito tab in Chrome and see if the problem still persists while accessing the same page in incognito mode.

Try gr8gonzo's suggestion.

Also, next step will also likely be to visit your link while watching your log files.

What you're looking for... unsure how to explain this... You're looking for any oddities...

For example, if no request lands in the log file, that points to one set of problems. Non 200 (success) status codes in Apache point to another set of problems. There can also be PHP or Database problems.

I debug this type of problem considering 100% of everything is broken + start from the beginning (DNS) + work all the way through Apache + PHP + Database logs.

I have been on this for hours now - really getting me down
The problem happens on EVERY page on my local websites which require a login - so it looks like some security issue
Accessing the webserver from another pc - these pages work perfectly

If grgonza's suggested provided no assistance, then you're next step is getting into your logs.

You can guess about the problem.

Or you can get into your logs + know 100% exactly what's steps are working + where to start debugging.

Thanks all - problem sorted. I renamed the Google data file to -OLD and recreated a new data file:

C:\Users\TickTockIT\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data-OLD

I was concerned that a re-sync from my account would not be accurate enough but it was
All Login pages are now working

Thanks for the suggestions
