Hi there,

I just upgraded the firmware on one of our PowerConnect 6248P VOIP switches to version 3.3.18.1.  But even though the switch is up and running, I can't connect to the management interface website anymore.  Every time I go to the switches management IP from a browser, the site never comes up.  Is there a quick solution to getting the site back up again?

Are you trying to connect via HTTP:// or HTTPS:// ??

I ask because according to Dell, the update disables HTTP:// by default

Do you know what your previous firmware version was?

Hi there,

I just tried https://IP, but it didn't come up either.  The previous version was 3.3.17.1.  I have another VOIP switch of the same model but I haven't updated it until I know what the issue is with this first switch.

Thanks!

Windows 10.  Are you using Edge or IE?  We frequently have to use IE for some Router interfaces as Edge does not display properly

Can you successfully ping the switch?

Hi all;

I'm using IE and Chrome.  I can ping the switch and can still Telnet into it.

Thanks,

"the site never comes up": what DO you see?

I've had a problem with an older HP switch where I'd get the framework for the management page, but no content.  I resolved it by using IE to access it and by adding the site to Compatibility View.

IE has normally worked for me. But to the above point, I agree with trying Compatibility view. I have not had to with modern routers and network gear.

In Chrome I just get the ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED error.

In IE I get the Error Code: INET_E_RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND error.

I'm using IE 11 and it looks like our company policy isn't allowing me to add any sites to the Compatibility View list.  Are there any options?

If you are a company person needing to manage network devices, then the company should provide you permission to alter the IE settings.

Can I go ahead and revert to the previous image without any issues?  If so and I can then access the site just fine, what should I do next?

You might wish to check with Dell Support, Reverting firmware is not always possible.

Thanks to someone who sent me a message directly, I found out that the web interface was disabled with this latest update.  All I had to do was run this configuration command "ip http server" and the site came back up.
