Can a one man IO game maker get noticed?
Hi
If I am making a WORDSCAPES type .io game, my own thing
is there any point?
How difficult is publicity?
Will the big boys drown me out?
Thanks

Chances are slim, but not impossible.

As others have said, don't view this as a way to get rich but a way to learn a craft. If you complete the game (always very hard to do!), launch it, get some honest feedback from family, friends and a small audience and use that to learn how to make a better game then over time you can learn how to do this well.
I've spent most of my career in the games business and you are smart to recognize that finding an audience is hard. But it's not impossible and good games always find their audience.
You should look for partner websites - places that will aggregate games together and where a company will help promote the site. With that model your can leverage their marketing budgets. You just need to make a game good enough for somebody to include in their portal.
That's definitely doable.
