HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen10 E-2124 SSD Issue?

Hi,

I am thinking of buying ProLiant ML30 G10 with 2.5 SSD (two, RAID1) but this comes with SATA 3.5 LFF drives.

Is there any way to use 2.5 SSD for this server?

The do support SSD, but they talk about m.2 NVMe, but there's no mention of RAID here.

Here's another forum post that says NVMe is not supported for RAID
https://community.hpe.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-ML-DL-SL/SSD-NVMe-is-not-supported-for-Raid/td-p/7003953

The documentation mentions support of SSD in RAID, but this suggests 2.5" SSD, not m.2 NVMe SSDs.

Be aware that some HP servers do not allow 3rd party SSDs.  I had that issue a few months ago when HP had a supply issue and my order was cancelled, to be replaced by a new batch that was delayed by 2 months.  I happened to have some spare Samsung SSDs and none of them will recognize in the HP server as a bootable or installable device.  I had to wait until the HP brand SSD was available before I could install the Microserver.
Odd that a generic SSD didn't work in your microserver serialband, https://homeservershow.com/forums/topic/16890-installing-a-1tb-ssd-in-my-hpe-microserver-gen10-for-vms/ shows someine using a generic EVO in one. ProLiants in general work with generic ones although some cause the fans to go full speed due to temperature sensor issues.

Patrick's problem may just be that HPE list lots of SFF SSDs but only a few LFF SSDs -  https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-a00061357en_us&docLocale=en_US#N10246    Doesn't make much sense since the LFF SSDs are just SFF SSDs converted to LFF using a 661914-001 form factor convertor.

I have found that using third party SSD is a lot less expensive than buying HPE SSD or SAS disks. Even servers that comes with SFF drives become too expensive for this customer. So I am looking for a solution that If there is any adapter (hot pluggable tray) something like this.

If I buy this ML30 G10 server without any HPE bays, and buy the above converter and add Samsung SSD to it. Cost can be reduced significantly. What do you think?
