speech control in ubuntu

is there voice recognition in ubuntu?

i have used dragon naturally speaking  in windows in the past, but i am trying to not use windows.  if possible.  i like the free of ubuntu.  should i switch to mint?

Pocketsphynx is one more or less working implementation. English an spanish work almost decently. Most other languages do not.

i do not know python.  i've used dragon naturally speaking on windows 7, but i'm trying to switch to mint or ubuntu.  my right hand doesn't work due to ms and so i don't hit shift and apparently i'm too stubborn to hit caps lock. ;)   i'll try to learn python if you feel it's necessary.  i'll loo into Pocketsphynx.
