Was this GoDaddy purchase a blunder? can it be saved?

Hi
I think I mucked up a decision a few weeks back.
A sparkly girl from Godad called me one morning during a remorseless coding buzz of mine.
She said they had reviewed my godaddy account and were uncertain about my server decisions.
Apparently, they had a new package deal for a "non-VPS" server of my own to handle my games' (plural) needs.
I didn't sense any red flags, so listened on.
I told her I needed a server to handle my games'  traffic and deliver appropriate responses and content to the user.
She didn't object. and told me it would be my own dedicated machine.  - And could do what I needed.
I was admittedly skeptical, bec if this was a special deal for a personal server, they'd need quite a big farm for all the potential global individual clients?
I should have asked her where the location was and how many clients had servers.
Anyway, she said it was a short time offer, and I thought it was a good deal for my needs and I bought the damn thing at $1,000
Can I salvage this blunder? Was it a blunder?
Can I work with the thing the sold me to make phone games?
I have since discovered Amazon web services which would be far better suited to my needs.- only pay for traffic you use.

Does Godaddy have a similar system to AWS? Is it in development?
I can demand a refund for the blunder, and use that money for Godaddy Web Services? Godaddy refunds have to stay within the account.

Thanks

I know that now. I knew that then, but the offer definitely seemed capable of my gaming server needs, and she seemed very confident in that also. I wasn't even aware of Amazon Game Services. and I didn't want to miss the train.
It seemed to me, to be exactly what I needed, and an acceptable price.
Can AWS be called from my godaddy webspace, or must it be an amazon webspace?

What would you advise me to do?
I'll call them tomorrow and ask if they are developing godaddy  web-services. That's likely unnecessary.

Thanks
GoDaddy will normally refund anything within a few days, no questions asked.

Just call GoDaddy support (talk with a human) + cancel the service.

You asked, "Does Godaddy have a similar system to AWS? Is it in development?"

No. GoDaddy hosting is fine for hobby sites, not for money sites (high traffic sites). Likely not good even for your development either.

Based on your other related questions, you require a recent Kernel + full control over admin of your machine for tuning.

Likely OVH will be a good choice. Use OVH pricing as a comparison with other pricing.
But,

I can link to AWS Amazon Web Services from my Godaddy html,

which should be enough?

Thanks
If you use AWS, this replaces GoDaddy... if you're taking about hosted services.

"Which should be enough?"

As stated above, you can't really use GoDaddy tech for any real projects. GoDaddy is fine for parked domains, hobbies, any low traffic project.

AWS... for a gaming platform... will likely cost you far more than you might imagine.

Search EE for recent discussions about "AWS surprise bills". It's always a bad day when you get some crazy 5 figure surprise bill from AWS.
Thanks
You're welcome!

Drop an update about your experience with GoDaddy, specifically if they did a refund for you.
Thanks
I did a political blog about seven years ago w godaddy that broke the Adsense barrier twice , so I was content, but it only had about 100+ participants, a bit of them friends and the rest, adwords click-ins. You're right, it was a bit of a hobby. - but - a v. good learning experience. I was approving each of my users' comments for decent content, so I'm not too certain how well I could've expanded.
But, I agree, Godaddy is not top-tier.
Danica Patrick aside, I would never have suspected that godaddy are in reality, hobbyist lightweights. Would my blog have croaked if it got as much traffic as I had hoped for?
Okay,
I phoned VISA, and they saw $2,398.80 returned, and Godad said the same given. I am not interested in being humiliated. I am humiliated. It is the psychology of missing out on a seeming no-brainer, but I knew I should have asked here. But she said, "just today." !

In case you're concerned, I am not going to mess with Amazon web services right now. Posts and things I found suggest they can over-bill. I could make some serious mistakes involving 4+ digit billings. And apparently, in a few other areas, the service is not always trustworthy.
I'm not going to make any big decisions for at least 6 months. My immediate goal is to get as good at Javascript gaming as I am at Java gaming, (own RTS engine, client) so less slows me down. That won't take too long, considering some excellent comments I received in the last few days, but there's no rush and so much to discover.

Thanks
Thanks for the update.

Looks like GoDaddy did refund your full amount.

Good to know!
