asked on
how to address storage problems on the iphone?
How do I transfer photos from iphone to an external drive and also prevent
those photos from being synchronized back to the iphone from itunes.
My goal is to free up space on the iphone. I do not want to incur charges
associated with the icloud and also no space left on the iphone.
thanks,

Upload what you can to iCloud (you do get a certain amount of free iCloud storage (5 GB)
Download from iCloud to your computer.
When done, delete the photos in iCloud.
Upload more and repeat.
The iCloud deletions should delete the iPhone photos, but check and delete these.
I do this from time to time and have all my photos on my computers (same photos on both computers)
