RDP into W2K16, resolution bad

Hi,

I have a Windows 2016 VM of which screen resolution is really bad (RDP from Windows 10).
VMWare tools are installed, no clue what else could be going on.

Please advise.

Try using a lower resolution (Display options in RDP) and see if that works. I do this from Windows 10 for Server 2012 R2 and that works.

You can set the resolution

Mstsc /v:hostname /w:horizontal /h:verticle

mstsc /w:1024 /h:768 should work.
Depth of color, .......
As others asked, current workstation  monitor dimentions, screen resolution?

@Andrew

VM W2K16 1920 * 994 changed
W10 1920*1080
Video card has default 8 MB
Compatability is ESXi 5.1 and later
1920 x 994 is a bit unusual. Try a standard widescreen resolution like 1366 x 768 to see if it appears correctly
I use 1024x768 to access/manage servers.

Much depends on what is being accessed and whether a larger screen, higher resolution is needed.
Color bit setting, settings for the display interaction.
Adjusting ram video solved the issue. Thanks Andrew!
Adjusting ram video would effect vsphere client console versus RDP .
What was the solution for you?
VM increased video ram allocation, comment of author.
Yes!  My error from working on a phone and not seeing everything.  Thank you.
