New O365 users - or merge users from company takeover by merging tenants into 1
hi ok situation is IT manager wants to just treat as new-users in our AD and in our tenant O365
This sounds well and good - but we are not sure about the wisdom of this. We are uncertain around keeping their systems running (have to for at least 12 months) but eventually the old o365 tenancy just deleted under his plan after their domains put in ours. It doesn't seem logical to me - he is prepared to pay the lic for both tenancies for 12 months only 100 users. - im concerned about his approach of just new users - my take is for using third party product to merge their objects + exchange online into our 1 tenancy. I cant quite articulate why. can someone help please? he seems to think we don't need to merge tenancies - can i get a list of reasons why we should merge rather than maintain 2 tenancies - i for-see technical problems. im uncertain of how this can work properly when the 100 staff come to work in our building - and their is some consideration of keeping their many other systems running by them rdping to their rds server. - thanks so for vague information - allot of unknowns. im just feeling that its best practice to get the merge of tenancies done without trying to maintain 2 - cheers both orgs use exchange online + adcon

philb19 I think the answer Vasil gave was a great and valid reason as to why it may be a good idea to merge the O365 tenant into 1.
you will need a 3rd party tool to move from one subscription to another i.e. export all from subscription-newcompany to import to subscription company2 and create a new accepted domain and import this data. i.e. https://help.bittitan.com/hc/en-us/articles/115008106827-Office-365-to-Office-365-Migration-Guide-While-Keeping-the-Same-Domain-Name
