The wireless card does not appear in device manager

OS: Windows 10 version 1809
Problem: The wireless network card disappeared from Device Manager
Things tried: Updated BIOS and install missing drivers.
Executed Windows 10 Update
The system passed a hardware diagnostic test
QuestionI would like to find out the possible reasons why, the wireless card does not appear in device manager?

Even if switched off, it should still, I think, show up in Device Manager
Post Note: I turned Wireless OFF on my laptop (Function to do this). It still shows up in Device Manager because the card is there and connected to the laptop board

Thank you all. I already solved the problem, I just wanted to figured out a possible reason why.
John, I do not believe the card got unseated, since it was secured down with a screw.

Nobus, I removed and re-inserted the wireless card.
You mean physically?

Yes, the wlan card was secured to the system board via a socket, I just unsecured the screw, removed the metal guard, removed the card and re-inserted it.
Maybe the motherboard or the card (WLAN) is on it's way out. I will have to request another card, if the problem happens again.

that is strange, since it has only 4 to8 contacts, - and is secured with screws...
I would think about light corrosion on contacts.
