Hi A A,
I have never heard of that author's name before and won't be able to help you much. I would like to highlight something though. Earlier Dynamics CRM was used to change every 3 years. Now, it change every month so I don't think any book can keep up with that kind of pace. You need to consume content directly from the source.
Also, Dynamics CRM is called Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement. And I would request you to at least have a look at these links before you decide to go for an ebook.
First and foremost, is this one: https://docs.microsoft.com /en-us/dyn amics365/# pivot=busi ness-apps& panel=cust omer-engag ement
Once you go there, you will see that they cover everything you want and more. If you want topic specific links, you can just look around on the page mentioned above and if you cannot find something specific, let me know. I am more than happy to help.
If you need blogs and community generated content, your one stop shop will be: https://community.dynamics .com/
Regards,
Chinmay.

I think Chinmay's first comment gives you what you are looking for. Did you look through the links? As example, this link he provided https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/ points to , "Training Classes" that goes to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/get-started/training/index. That page shows links for the newer version and older. The link to the newest version goes to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/businessapps/.
The point is, if you keep following these, you will get the information you need. There are also links in there for certifications although those exams will cost a little bit.
The other thing Chinmay said was to get your hands dirty and start using it. There are also some youtube videos by microsoft https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJGCg4rB3QSs8y_1FquelBQ/videos

Hi A A,
Many a times when experts see some other expert is already has provided a proper answer, they might not join the conversation. I do that too most of the times.
And Functional track is generally rare to adapt to and does not have a defined skill set (As it involves having industry specific knowledge mapped to the product functionality and add-ons).
I have written articles which list all the technical skill set required for Dynamics CRM (I have not updated them for Dynamics 365 yet). Here is a list of articles which might help you.
1. https://www.experts-exchan ge.com/art icles/2935 6/Desired- Skill-Set- for-Micros oft-Dynami cs-CRM-Tec hnical-Res ources-Par t-I.html

4. https://www.experts-exchan ge.com/art icles/3204 6/Desired- Skill-Set- for-Micros oft-Dynami cs-CRM-Tec hnical-Res ources-Par t-IV.html
In addition to above mentioned articles, I wrote couple of blog posts in past but I would rather give you the latest list of exams/certifications.
Please visit this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/dynamics-365-exams.aspx
Please avoid giving any Dynamics CRM exams as they are all already expired or are set to expired very soon (Your time and money will be wasted).
I hope this solves your query. If not, I am more than happy to do a live session and clear any doubts you have.

Chinmay.
