Helloooo

I have Vcenter with 3 hosts. I wonder if there is a way to have a copy of the configuration for  each
 host . The idea is to have this configuration file so if I format one of the hosts, I will always know the host configurations and just upload the configuration file to the that formated host .( I am using VMware ESXi5.).

Thank you....

But test it because sometimes it does not work!!!

And you must restore to same build and version!
@Andrew
What happened or what was the problem then. Not that I have the same issues some time in the future.
Clearly it needs to be the exact same Esxi build/version to restore, I never had an issue to backup the config and restore it on single ESXi Host (without vcenter).
And besides that, if the hosts are part of a DC in vcenter, they get the config from the vcenter anyway if joined again.
Or am I wrong?

cheers
Thomas

Hello Thomas

   So if I make that backup command "mentioned in the web page" I will have a copy of the configurations for the host. Once I lost the host and need to restore it, I can use this backup file.  That configurations includes the configurations for the host inside the vCenter right?
