Windows 10 Build 1903 update breaks VPN

Hello All,

I have noticed that every machine that I have updated to build 1903 has stopped allowing VPN to work.  When connecting it just spins and spins and does nothing.  I have found online that this is an issue with 1903 and that the only way I found around it is to use the old rasphone.exe found in the Windows\System32 folder.  Has anyone else experienced this?  If so are there another work around besides reverting back to an earlier build.

Regards,

Rob

I have found 1903 randomly breaks many networking features, gateway, VPN, physical and virtual NICs, and more.  Sometimes it requires running
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
Which of course then resets all networking back to install defaults and you have to recreate everything.
It's not common but I have seen it 5 or 5 times.
I am afraid I have no VPN solution other than netsh reset and start over.

Should I just have my users use the rasphone program until MS comes out with a fix?  I really don't want to have to remote into every machine and recreate their VPN connections since they are all out of town users.

Highly doubt there will be a fix.  They may modify 1903 so it doesn't break network features in the future, but the issues are so random I can't see how they can fix them all.

That reset command did not work.  All vpn and network connections are still intact after a reboot.

Surprised it didn't work so I researched the issue.  The VPN issue is apparently a known bug.  The following article outlines, however further research shows that the fix in the article doesn't work, or if it does, it is only temporary. As of last week the only two known fixes are roll back to before 1903 update or use rasman as you are doing.  Sorry that is not much help, but in this case as you suggested, because it is so wide spread and not related to the random issues I mentioned, they may release a fix.
