Hi Expert,

I would like to start learning on Vmware Sphere as most jobs require nowaday, like to check if anyone here the installing guide or video? Also does it need an extra pc to host it? Sorry that I am a desktop guy and only have VMware workstation experience.

Appreciate if any expert can advise me on.

Thanks!

Good morning fella,

So, lets get to basics, VMWare V-Sphere (small correction) is actually split into two main parts, V-Center and ESXi.

ESXi is the operating system you put onto the host, like windows. V-center is what controls it for an enterprise.

Search through Andrews Articles, there is a massive amount there to learn and ideally you need two hosts.

For a lab they don't need to be massively powered, 16GB or 32GB of memory and a ryzen 5 processor would work fine.

There is the latest manual as well.

I’ve written many tutorials with screenshots and step by step instructions.

You can learn VMware vSphere by installing ESXi in a virtual machine using VMware Workstation or VMware Player if you have the resources on your desktop PC
