Desktop Icons flickering

Windows 10 machine suddenly starting flashing icons on desktop.    I have tested video card and updated drivers still no resolution.    I do not get the flashing of icons if I login to the machine under a different user account so it is related to profile.  Before i chalked it up to corrupt profile wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on how to resolve.
Thanks for your response.

What version of Windows 10 you have and what hardware laptop/desktop you have ?

If you recently update display drivers, you need to roll back or uninstall the updated driver, to confirm if it's driver issue or not, try to reboot in safe-mood and check, otherwise the issue can be solved by backup current profile -> delete profile and create a new one.
Are you using a redirected desktop?

We are doing redirection and occasionally my desktop will flicker. I recently went from Windows 7 Pro to 10 Pro and, now that you've posted this, I don't remember seeing this until I upgraded to Windows 10.

ASKER

We are not using a redirection laptop.   It was running with no issues until Wednesday afternoon.  No new software was installed so I am leaning towards a corrupt profile.
Thanks for all your help.

Can you please try to run SFC /SCANNOW to see if it fixes your system
Ran the scan earlier today no fix to the issue.
I would recommend to recreate the profile assuming you have already performed the above mentioned steps
probably an incompatible app :  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12374/windows-10-troubleshoot-screen-flickering
Screen flickering in Windows 10 is usually caused by a display driver issue or incompatible app. To determine whether a display driver or app is causing the problem, check to see if Task Manager flickers. Then, based on that information, you'll need to update, rollback, or uninstall your display driver or update or uninstall the app.
I have had this issue once and it seemed to be the profile.
However the culprit was OneDrive
Once uninstalled the system was back to normal
