AS400 Unusual Dates

I need to pull dates from an as400 table. I would normally expect a CYYMMDD format. This is something different, and I cannot figure out the format.
Dates are expressed as
800101
800102
etc.
In columns with the title MDY, these are expressed as
10180
10280
etc.
WDJUL, which I assume stands for Weekday, Julian is expressed as
80001
80002
etc.
Anyone have an idea what they are doing here.

Yep! Makes me feel brain-dead, but I wasn't expecting dates that old. and now I am understanding the days, as they are going from 1 to 365. Thanks, Dr. Klahn!
