Fanvil C600 - showing blank screen

Dear Experts,

We have two Fanvil C600 phones in the office.

One is working well, the other is just showing a blank screen with the led indicator "red".

I have done firmware upgrade (pressing back and home screen button) and reboot the phone but still showing black screen.

I am not sure of wiping out the config as i have not done any backup.

Connected phone to network, the wan ports says "1000 mbps" but I am not able to ping the static ip address

The phone displayed an IP 192.168.1.179, but I cannot ping it.

Connected to lan port of phone but there is no connection.

If it were me, I'd factory reset it - especially if it isn't working anyway.

However, you would have to back yourself to set it up again :-)

I set up a lot of phones, and the first thing I always do is factory reset, then firmware update.

I did a firmware downgraded to C600-fanvil-14.0.1.0.r1-hw2-full-20181120132557 with the settings still intact and it was working since 10 Sep.

Then yesterday the phone went back to the black screen again.

Really frustrating, two fanvil phones but one of them is having a connectivity issue.
I'd still be inclined to do a factory reset (the firmware should not change) with the same caveat as above.

Now I am having difficulty to go into Recovery mode
By 'recovery mode' do you mean 'Factory Reset' or something else?

For the C600, to factory reset,  I believe you go:

Maintain
Backup
Reset Phone

If you set a password, then enter that, else its probably 123456.

Hope that helps,

Alan.
The recovery mode is

1. power off the phone
2. Press and hold the back and home button
3. With the two buttons still pressed down, power on the phone.
4. The screens will show the green android robot icon and then the menu will appear
When you try to go into Android Recovery Mode, what happens (if anything)?

You should get the Android Recovery Menu, one option of which should be 'Factory Reset'.

However, easier to go via the standard menus as above I would say.

Alan.
Hi! Alan,

As the phone is displaying black screen, i am unable to ping the IP neither reset the phone to factory which is why I can only do the above steps, but failed.
