Iphone - auto update apps when asleep
Is it possible to set a time in which iOS apps on the iphone are updated, say when we are asleep after a certain time e.g. 1am?
Also is there a way to prevent it connecting to e.g. a portable wifi device which I have data limits compared with a home wifi which is unlimited?

There is an option to update overnight, I used to use it but I cannot remember where it is.....
Overnight is for the iOS (full phone update). You mentioned only single apps from the Store.
The difference is obvious, because iOS updates can be Gigabytes, while a single app could be just megabytes.

WiFi: Prioritizing networks is still a problem on ALL devices (incl Android and Windows), usually automatically going for the strongest WiFi signal.
Usually the only options are to disable "Auto connect to this network" or if that options doesn't exist, the more annoying "Forget this network" (because you have to enter the key again next time you DO need it)
