Incorrect User folder name
Hello,
Last week I purchased a new HP Laptop with Windows 10 Pro. During the setting, for some reason my details (jerem) name was used instead it should have been jeremy. I’m wondering if someone can tell me how to change this without causing any issues? I have attached an image for your reference.
Thanks.

Grenadine the username, etc. does not make changes to the underlying user folder.
On a new system, where a typo has occurred for the username, creating a new user with the correct spelling is the straight forward way to achieve this.
To make the changes manually involves several things including changing profile using registry editor which is where the profile location is defined and set.

Yes there is a bit of work involved to complete the transfer otherwise you can simply create another user as others have suggested
Microsoft has confirmed this to be by design in Windows.
To workaround this issue, you can use the steps below to manually rename the profile path.
1. Log in by using another administrative account.
Note You may need create a new administrative account at first.
2. Go to the C:\users\ folder and rename the sub folder with the original user name to the new user name.
3. Go to registry and modify the registry value ProfileImagePath to the new path name.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWAR E\Microsof t\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileL ist\<User SID>\
4. Log out and log in again by using the user whose name is changed, and the user should use the pervious profile with new path name.

It defeats the simplicity on a new PC to create a new user with correct spelling
To effectively direct the individual to create a new account for the sole purpose of going through the complex path of altering references that are susseptible to missing one reference if several.

Logout, login with the new name, delete the old account when done since it is a new system and has no personal data yet.
Control panel, local user account addition.
