Sharepoint 2010 - 2013 migration

Hi All,

Currently looking at a SharePoint 2010 to 2013 migration. I am following a few guides available on the Internet. Quick question. On the guide that I am following here: https://www.sharepointdiary.com/2013/09/migrate-from-sharepoint-2010-to-2013-step-by-step.html

I am assuming when it says to setup the new site as per the old site, I use a different URL when first setting up the new site? Secondly I am also assuming before I restore the database etc I need to setup the Kerberos SPN etc as per here: https://www.c-sharpcorner.com/article/configuring-kerberos-authentication-on-share-point-2013-2016-web-application/

Please feel free to let me know if I am missing anything or if there are better guides / methods to complete this. What we want is to be able to move to SharePoint 2013 on a new server whilst the old one is live Once happy, turn the old one off and use the new one. I don't mind telling our users to use a different url to point to the new one once all is well.

Cheers,
Paul
