Azure Active Directory Roles and administrators

Hi,

Is it possible to assign Office 365 Admin Roles to users using Cloud or AD Security groups?

Regards,
Richard

Yes, O365 back end is nothing but azure AD

You can activate azure portal for your office 365 tenant and then assign users specific role you are looking for through RBAC

But if it can be assigned through O365 RBAC interface, then why you need to go to Azure AD

hi,

I'm looking to create the Group 'Exchange Support' this group will have 30 user account, how would I make all members of this group have the Exchange Admin role?
"Global Administrator" is role and not an group where you can add another group as member

All you can do, identify those required users and assign them Global administrator role either from Azure AD portal "roles and administrators, for that you do need azure AD P1 or P2 license
Else achieve same from O365 admin portal / powershell and grant all those required users global administrator role
Hi Mahesh,

I know all the above, I am just looking to see if admin roles (exchange admin, helpdesk, user etc) can be assigned to groups of users using a security group or if it needs to be assigned  manually/ with powershell
manually or powershell to individual users but not to groups as far as I know
