My pc is being ran by someone else without my knowledge looking for advice on how to reset my laptop and reset up securely

Hi I would like some advice on how to reset my surface pro 4 and change setting to ensure I am full admin of my lap top and have no one controlling my pc from remote pc as I have concerns that my lap top is being monitered and controlled by someone in my home I have recently downloaded a programme called speccy and it shows that I am actually using a virtual pc I was unawear of this so when I have looked at my services and settings im not 100% but it looks to me like I am being monitored and controlled by someone else which is why I would be gratefull for some professional advice as I have very little understanding on this sort of thing my knowledge is basic but if it possible for someone to help me by checking some settings and giving me advice I would be very grateful

As far as Speccy goes, it has it's flaws / quirks. I recall that the "Computer Type: Virtual" was it misunderstanding some BIOS settings, specifically "Intel Virtualization Technology". I wouldn't jump to conclusions based on that output.

What other thing(s) make you think someone is monitoring your / your system?

It looks like Windows Defender is running, so that's good, it finds most common malware. Have you run a full scan with it?

Just to be clear there is a lot of paranoia that is elevated by the media and entertainment segments. If you have your Windows Firewall and Windows Defender both enabled and that your Windows box is fully updated then odds are (and I mean like 9999/10000) you are not being controlled by anyone. What is probably more likely is that you have a few too many programs installed/turned on that are now trying to secure your box.

speccy is wrong.. I get the same thing here -- saying that computer type is virtual -- speccy is confused run system information and look under baseboard manufacturer or system manufacturer and baseboard product or system product on the system summary page and you should see your manufacturer and not Microsoft Corporation
