Switch log being flooded with tftp: SENT error:4, msg: Illegal TFTP operation

We have a switch that it's log is being flooded with the described message above in the subject line. How do I find out what port is causing this issue? Or how can I stop this from happening?

Info: This is a HP-Switch 2510a

I believe your switch is trying to TFTP something out. If thats the case you arent going to find it coming in through a port. I would check the settings for syslog or even some kind of update lookup mechanism.

If something is bombarding your switch, do you have network monitoring of some kind or perhaps an HP management device?

ASKER

Thanks Nathan for your response. What I ended up doing was using the command:
ip ssh filetransfer

to turn off TFTP since we don't need to use it. And that stopped the errors from coming through!

We do have a network monitoring, we use Auvik.
