Network Upgrade and Introduce Cisco SDA
We are planning to upgrade old fashioned Network infrastructure and this primarily includes deploying new evolving Cisco SDA
The existing infrastructure is having Cisco switches.
The current is design is very simple. It consists of two 6509 Cisco switches as Collapsed core and Edge Switches consists of mixed 2960s and 3560s
Core switches are configured as HSRP Active/Standby and Active Core switch is root bridge for all vlans.
VLANs are segmented as per department wise and all vlans are configured and spanned through out all switches.
The plan is to:
- Upgrade all switches
- Migrate from traditional network to SDA.
- Prepare
Hence, we need experts here to guide us on above points.
What strategies need to be considered?
How to perform the migration?
Appreciating any help and suggestions

We have CCIE engineers on board however this is the first implementation of SDA, therefore we seek help of our experts here to guide us for this migration.
I am sure we can execute this migration if properly planned and guided especially migrating existing production network to SDA.
We have total 900 nodes in network.
We want to replace the existing infrastructure as they are not able to meet evolving technologies and digital transformation strategy and network demands
Recently 6509 is end of support from Cisco and we had couple of network failures.
Here, budget is not an issue at all.

Have you compared what it would be to upgrade/replace the 6509s and 2960s to a complete Cisco SDA architecture? What is driving this project? What are your benchmarks for success? How many ports and nodes on your network? Mow much networking expertise is there in house?
